Gerard Greene comfortably advanced to the second round of the World Snooker Championship qualifiers with a 6-1 victory over Brian Ochoiski on Wednesday.

The Northern Irishman hit breaks of 72 and 50, and will face Oliver Lines in the next round at the Sheffield Institute of Sport.

On Thursday, Fergal O'Brien will face Rod Lawler, who held on for a final-frame triumph against Cork teenager Ross Bulman on Tuesday. That clash of O'Brien and Lawler will be amongst the first matches up for decision in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Ken Doherty and Jordan Brown now know their second qualifying round opponents after victories for Fraser Patrick and Rory McLeod respectively last night.
