Mark Allen is in to his first UK Championship final since 2011 after edging a terrific battle with Stuart Bignham 6-5.

The Northern Irishman will face Ronnie O'Sullivan in Sunday's decider, hoping to atone for the defeat he suffered against Judd Trump seven years ago.

For Bingham, it was a third semi-final defeat in York and a place in the final at the Barbican Centre continues to elude him.

At five frames apiece, Allen got his hand on the table first in the decider with a break of 38, but did not land a red when he split the pack.

An error from Bingham proved to be his last when a safety went wrong and he left a red over a middle pocket. Allen took full advantage and cleared the table with a break of 64.
