World number one Mark Selby eased into the third round at the Northern Ireland Open.

The 35-year-old beat Jimmy Robertson 4-0 with breaks of 128 and 127. He will now face Hamza Akbar in Belfast.

World Championship winner and defending champion Mark Williams lost 4-3 to Ali Carter in a final-frame shootout, with only Carter hitting one break over 50 in an error-strewn match.

Ronnie O'Sullivan beat Mei Xi Wen 4-1, hitting a break of 119 in the third frame and will play Tom Ford, while Judd Trump beat Stuart Carrington 4-0, setting the tone when he opened with a break of 137.

Peter Ebdon, the 2002 world champion, overcame Lee Walker 4-3 in the second round.
