Fergal O’Brien and Joe Swail are through to the second round of the Scottish Open.

Dubliner O’Brien, currently ranked at 44 in the world, beat Brandon Sargeant 4-0, while Belfast’s Swail (62) accounted for Lee Walker on 4-1 scoreline. 

O'Brien will meet the winner of Zhou Yuelong and Stephen Maguire, while Swail will face Stuart Carrington. 

The tournament is the first World Snooker ranking event held in Scotland since the World Open in 2010.
