Northern Ireland’s Gerard Greene has taken a 5-4 overnight lead over Jimmy White in the first round of World Snooker Championship Qualifiers.
Elsewhere, Tipperary’s Brendan O’Donoghue is trailing England’s David Grace 5-1.
The players have to come through three qualifying rounds to reach the tournament first round proper, with the winner of Greene and White up next against the winner of Peter Ebdon and James Wattana.
The victor from the O’Donoghue v Grace match next plays Mark King or Fraser Patrick.
The matches are best of 19 frames.
A total of 128 players battling it out for just 16 places in the sport's show-piece event alongside the top 16 ranked players on the Order of Merit.
