Ireland’s Fergal O’Brien achieved a personal milestone on Thursday by making the first maximum break of his professional career, while in action at the Championship League.
The Dubliner made the perfect break in the first frame of the Group Six match against Mark Davis at Crondon Park in Essex and the 147 will earn him £500 high break prize unless it's equalled.
His previous best had been 143 and his maximum today was the 118th in snooker history.
O'Brien is currently ranked 34th in the world and was a winner of the British Open in 1999.
