Mark Selby made light work of Ricky Walden to claim a place in the last eight of the China Open.

A break of 91 in the opening frame helped set the world number two on his way to a 5-2 victory and a quarter-final contest against Mark Williams.

Welshman Williams came through a much tougher challenge in the second round, beating two-time World Championship finalist Ali Carter 5-4.

Carter had held a 4-2 lead but Williams responded with a break of 136 in the seventh before adding scores of 81 and 79 to complete his comeback.

Shaun Murphy and Jack Lisowski will compete in another quarter-final after both progressed.

Breaks of 80 and 81 helped Lisowski overturn a 4-2 deficit to edge out Mark Davies 5-4.

Murphy beat Rory McLeod 5-3 after scoring 99 in the second frame and 124 in the eighth.
