Fergal O'Brien and Joe Delaney set up an all-Dublin semi final at the vcpoker.ie Irish Professional Snooker Championship, but took very contrasting routes into the last four.
O'Brien trailed 4-3 against Antrim's Mark Allen, but came from behind to win the next with a break of 52, and made 69 from his first scoring visit in the decider to clinch his win.
'It was the first time I've played Mark and it went a bit scrappy because neither of us settled' said the 1999 British Open champion. 'But the breaks I made in the last two frames were the two best breaks of the match.'
Delaney coasted to a surprise 5-0 win over over Belfast man Joe Swail, highlighted by breaks of 76 and 55.
'I can't believe I've won 5-0. I was just buzzing' said the world number 58 from Glasnevin. 'Joe was struggling, but it didn't help him that I was playing well. It'll be a good crowd on Saturday night. I'll have a lot of people here and Fergal will have all his mates along too.'
Defending champion Ken Doherty plays Gerard Greene in the first semi-final on Saturday afternoon.
