Galway's 16-year-old Vincent Muldoon produced a stunning comeback to win the deciding frame of his semi final encounter with Limerick's Vincent Meaney to claim his place in Sunday's Irish Championship final.
Muldoon raced into a 3-1 lead early on, only for meaney to find his form and win the next three frames.
Muldoon made it 4-4 before Meaney took the next to leave him one frame from victory.
Muldoon dug deep to win the next frame to force the decider.
The final frame looked over as Meaney raced into a 48 point lead, but a missed red left Muldoon one final chance and he took it superbly, compiling a superb 62 clearance to take the frame and match.
Muldoon will now meet Limerick's John Torpey in the final and with an all expenses trip to the World Championships in Bangkok at stake, everything is to play for.
Semi-finals: Robert Murphy 4-6 John Torpey
Vincent Meaney 5-6 Vincent Muldoon
Quarter-finals: Rodney Goggins 2-5 Robert Murphy
John O'Sullivan 3-5 John Torpey
Keith Sheldrick 1-5 Vincent Muldoon
John Sutton 3-5 Vincent Meaney
The final of the Irish Championships starts at 11.00am on Sunday, with the second session at 2.30.
