Graeme Dott took significant strides towards his first 888.com World Championship title after opening up an 11-5 overnight advantage in a war of attrition with Peter Ebdon at the Crucible Theatre.
Dott, who had lost his four previous ranking finals, showed far more positive intent than his opponent in a match where half-hour frames were the norm.
The Scot's tactical and safety play was of a high standard and he strung together the few breaks of any quality.
