John Higgins became the first-ever player to compile maximum breaks in successive matches after his 147 at Brighton today. The world number four, who knocked in a maximum during the LG Cup final at Preston last month, constructed another in the fifth frame of his second round match against Irish player Michael Judge in the British Open.
Higgins went on to beat Judge 5-1 and his break will earn him £20,000 plus £5,000 as the highest break of the televised phase.
