Harold through to semi-final

Dave Harold battled his way through to the Citywest Irish Masters semi-final in Dublin by beating Australian Quinten Hann 6-3, before rounding on his critics - including his rival Hann.

Harold, well known for his measured approach to the game, took three-hours to see off the challenge of Hann, and the defeated Australia was quick to criticise his oppenent. "He's probably the most negative player I know," Hann said.

However, Harold played down the claim and said "I would love to play like Ronnie and if someone can give me his inspiration or whatever it is he's got then I would take it. Quinten can say I play slow but he also took his time as well," he hit back.

"I'm not sure how he could say he would reach the semi-finals because we can all beat each other. But today I've played some of my best snooker for a long, long time. And if I can play my game I can beat anybody."
