Judge faces Ebdon while White faces Williams

Michael Judge is looking to put one over on Peter Ebdon when they meet at the Regal Scottish Open in Aberdeen tonight. Judge faces defending Champion Ebdon tonight following his defeat of Joe Swail yesterday but also faces him at the World Championships next month and is looking for a morale boosting victory ahead of that match.

He said, "I play the defending champion so I haven't got an easy draw. Hopefully though I can put one over on him before Sheffield, it's great to beat a player of Joe's calibre, now I've got to try and build on this in the rest of the tournament."

Jimmy White was in action last night against Gary Wilkinson and won 5-0, a win which ensures his status as a top 16 player for next season. "It's a great burden off my shoulders knowing I can go to the Crucible with my ranking sorted out," sighed the world number 11. "I worked out that it's been six or seven years I've gone to the world championship with my top 16 position under threat. Twice I've dropped out of the 16 and managed to get back in."

White now plays fellow left-hander and World number one, Mark Williams in the next round.
