Stephen Lee and Peter Ebdon have advanced to the quarter-finals of the Irish Masters Snooker Championship in Dublin with victories over Paul Hunter and Joe Swail respectively.
Lee beat Hunter 6-4 in this afternoon's opening match and will now play Ireland’s Ken Doherty in Thursday’s quarter-final. Tonight Ebdon defeated Northern Ireland's Joe Swail 6-2.
“Paul's a class act and a very tough opponent, but I'd rather play him because he's fighting to get in the top eight and would probably knock me out. It's strange that we meet so often, but at least if I beat him in ranking events he won't overtake me. It's good that it's in my hands. It's a boost to get past Paul, especially after losing my first match here for the last two years,” said Stephen Lee after his victory.
