Snooker fans in Ireland will once again get an opportunity to witness the world's best at close hand at this year's CityWest Irish Masters, details of which were announced this afternoon. The top 11 players in the World Rankings will be joined by Dublin's Fergal O' Brien, who has been given a wild card entry for the tournament, which is again being staged in Association with the Department of Health and Children.
The competition will be opened by Wembley Masters champion Paul Hunter, who makes his Irish Masters debut against Stephen Lee on Monday March 19. Northern Ireland's Joe Swail will be the first of the Irish into action the following night, where his opponent will be Peter Ebdon.
On Wednesday, Fergal O'Brien will play Stephen Hendry, while Ken Doherty will play either Hunter or Lee in the first of the quarter-finals a day later.
