Drago fined for verbal abuse

Tony Drago has been fined £3,500 for verbal abuse of staff and threatening behaviour at the 2000 British Open in Plymouth. The Maltese player's fine has been partially suspended on condition of good behaviour for the next 12 months. He has 28 days to pay the fine or face expulsion from the World Professional Billiard and Snooker Association.

Meanwhile, the WPBSA have disqualified Belgium's Patrick Delsemme from last season's Embassy World Championship and Thailand Masters after twice testing positive for cannabis. The 27-year-old will consequently forfeit 1,560 ranking points and £11,000 in prize money from the two events.
