Ronnie O'Sullivan, through to the semi-finals of the China Open after beating Paul Hunter 5-4 today, has said he is fed up with snooker. The defending champion, still on course for a successful defence of the title, revealed he is getting no pleasure from snooker. "It's absolutely nothing against China. I felt exactly the same in Bournemouth at the UK Championship. I'm just fed up with snooker and playing for the sake of it. I'm trying to get something going but it's a waste of time. The game is frustrating me and getting on my nerves. I can't wait to get away from it, although I didn't feel like that for the first three or four tournaments this season," he added.
O'Sullivan currently heads the 2000/01 money list with victories in the Champions Cup and Regal Scottish Masters. He will take on either Stephen Hendry or Alan McManus in the semi-final but he said his heart is not really in it. " I'll have a game of golf tomorrow and see how I feel after that," he said.
Meanwhile, Drew Henry will make his world ranking event semi-final debut at the China Open after overcoming Matthew Stevens 5-0 in just 86 minutes earlier today. The world number 29 recently reached the quarter-finals of the Liverpool Victoria UK Championship and admitted: "It's been a good few weeks for me. I don't think I've ever been as consistent as I've been lately. At the start of the season I wasn't even considering getting into the top 16 but now I've got half a chance."
