Fergal O'Brien is through to the last sixteen of the Liverpool Victoria UK Championship in Bournemouth after thrashing Nick Dyson 9-2. Dyson, a rank outsider at this event, surprised many when he beat Jimmy White in a previous round and also fired a maximum break of 147 and two other breaks of 144 and 143 earlier in the wek. However, O'Brien had little trouble in dispatching him this evening and will now meet either Chris Small or Matthew Stevens.
Currently, Ken Doherty has come back from 6-2 down to trail Gerard Greene by 7-5 while Michael Judge, who led opponent Paul Hunter 6-1 at one stage, is now just 7-6 ahead.
