Peter O'Mahony and Robbie Henshaw return to the Ireland side for their Guinness Six Nations encounter against Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday (3pm).

Munster man O'Mahony replaces Ryan Baird in the back row and Henshaw is in for Garry Ringrose in what is otherwise an unchanged XV following the opening weekend victory against England in Dublin.

Injury concerns over wing Mack Hansen and prop Finlay Bealham during the week have been allayed allowing Simon Easterby to pick both Connacht players again. .

Sam Prendergast will once again start at out-half ahead of Munster's Jack Crowley, who is named on the bench.

Last week's player of the match Jamison Gibson-Park starts at scrum-half to again link up with Leinster team-mate Prendergast, while Andrew Porter and Rónan Kelleher join Bealham, once more, in the front row.

The second row sees Tadhg Beirne and James Ryan remain in place, while O'Mahony, Josh van der Flier and captain Caelan Doris make up the remainder of the pack.

Hugo Keenan and James Lowe join Hansen in the back three, while the centre partnership sees Bundee Aki and Henshaw link up.

Dan Sheehan will again start on the bench and has been named in the replacements alongside veteran Clontarf native Cian Healy, Thomas Clarkson, Baird, Jack Conan, Conor Murray, Crowley and Ringrose.

"Sunday's game presents a significant challenge against a Scotland side that had a very good Autumn Nations Series and have started the Six Nations with a positive bonus point win over Italy," said Easterby.

"We have taken confidence from the win over England this week and there are undoubtedly areas for improvement.

"Selection was a real challenge again which reinforces the competition for places. As we approach Round 2, it’s about improvement and building momentum. We know that we will need to start the game strongly and meet their physical challenge."
