Former Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll has tipped Ireland to beat Scotland on Saturday, but feels they will come up short in their quest for back-to-back RBS 6 Nations Championships.

Asked on Twitter for his predictions for the final round of matches, O’Driscoll said, “Ireland by 9, England by 12 & Wales by 36”.

England, Ireland and Wales go into the final round level on points, but England have a points difference of +37, Ireland +33 and Wales +12.

Were O’Driscoll’s predictions to be proved accurate, England would win the Six Nations championship with a points difference of +49, Wales would finish second with a points difference of +48, and Ireland would be third with a points difference of +42.
