Ireland scrum-half Eoin Reddan has ended speculation over his club future by declaring he will remain at Wasps next season.

Reddan, who was named man of the match in Saturday's 16-11 RBS 6 Nations victory over Italy, had been linked with a move to Leinster.

But the 27-year-old credits Wasps for his development into a genuine Test half-back and sees no reason to leave the European champions.

‘I'm staying at Wasps. I don't know why it has become such an issue,’ he said.

‘Things are working for me at Wasps so there's no point in breaking something that is fixed.

‘There are some very good teams in Ireland but from a personal point of view, whatever is happening at Wasps is making me play well.

‘There are no regrets about the move to England. I joined Wasps from Munster in 2005 and back then I was a completely different player.

‘I've learned so much at Wasps. You keep on working on little things and I have been fortunate in having some very good coaches around me.’

A key influence at Wasps has been Shaun Edwards, the former Great Britain rugby league captain who recently joined Wales' coaching team.

Edwards helped mastermind Wales' stunning 26-19 victory over England on Saturday and
Reddan claims his attacking skills have been honed under his guidance.

‘Shaun Edwards has been brilliant,’ he said.

‘He was one of the great half-backs in rugby league and he seems to have a great knack of bringing things through to union.

‘A high percentage of the tries I've scored will be down to the lines Shaun has suggested I run. He's very astute about that.’

Reddan made his third successive Test appearance in the Croke Park victory over Italy and his darting runs were one of the few positives to emerge from a disappointing opener.

A lack of support meant his breaks went unrewarded as he produced the best display of his five outings in an Ireland shirt.

Champions France are next up for the Triple Crown holders on Saturday and Reddan had demanded his side show a ruthless streak when they arrive in Paris.

‘You are always surprised to get man of the match and it is a pity we did not finish off some of the moves we created into tries,’ he said.

‘There were a lot of positives we could take from the Italy game for when we play France.

‘It's about giving a performance every week and having a base line for yourself. We need to improve on last weekend.’
