Challenging weather cancelled the action in Croatia

There was no racing on Sunday at the ILCA European Championships in Kaštela, Croatia, due to challenging weather conditions.

After delays ashore, both fleets eventually launched but strong and inconsistent wind shifts caused major difficulties for race management making it impossible to complete the scheduled starts.

Conditions then deteriorated further as the wind dropped away completely forcing organisers to cancel racing for the day.

Racing will take place tomorrow when Olympians Eve McMahon and Finn Lynch will lead the Irish challenge as well as Ewan McMahon and Fiachra McDonnell for their first major championship event of 2026.
