The Irish men's Laser team will compete at next week's international regatta in Vilamoura in Portugal, in what represents a final chance to secure a berth in the class at the Tokyo Olympics.
Rio Olympian Finn Lynch (National Yacht Club), Liam Glynn (Ballyholme Yacht Club), Ewan McMahon (Howth Yacht Club), and Tom Higgins and Hugo Kennedy (both Royal St. George Yacht Club) will be in action from Monday to Saturday.
With an average age of just 22, the Irish team have it all to do to qualify for an Olympic event that features 11 fewer qualifying places than were available at Rio 2016.
A fleet of 120 boats from 17 countries will vie for the two remaining nation places in the Laser category for Tokyo 2020.
The Irish team will be supported by Slovenian coach Vasilij Zbogar, a three-time Olympic medallist.
