Europe's hopes of Ryder Cup success could rest with Padraig Harrington after the Dubliner was named in the final singles match by team captain Ian Woosnam.

Leading 10-6 going into Sunday's final 12 singles matches, Europe hold a commanding advantage and the possibility of Harrington playing for the match is highly unlikely unless the visitors can muster a comeback of legendary proportions.

Harrington's encounter with Scott Verplank concludes the day's action, while compatriots Paul McGinley and Darren Clarke tee off sixth and seventh at the Straffan course. McGinly faces JJ Henry, while Clarke meets Zach Johnson.

Colin Montgomerie is first at the tee at 11.15am against David Toms.
