The K Club plays host to Junior Ryder Cup next week. Like the main event, the match was postponed for 12 months because of September 11 and now the same two teams gather again for the fourth staging of the contest. Europe, who had a 15-year-old by the name of Sergio Garcia playing in the inaugural match in 1995, hold a 2-1 lead in the series, but there has yet to be a home win.
Each team consists of 12 players - four boys and four girls under 16 and two girls and two boys under 18. Next Tuesday sees boys v boys and girls v girls fourballs and on the Wednesday there are mixed fourballs. The teams then travel to Birmingham to attend the match at The Belfry.
