Edwin Edogbo has signed a contract extension with Munster that will keep the Cork man at the province until at least 2027.

The 23-year-old, who made his Ireland debut against Italy during this year's Six Nations campaign, has enjoyed a fine season after putting two injury-hit seasons behind him following his playing comeback last October.

After missing the entirety of last season, Edogbo returned against Edinburgh in the URC last autumn.

He started the win over Leinster at Croke Park the following week and has gone on to make 14 appearances for Munster so far this campaign, including his Champions Cup debut against Bath.

His impressive form earned Edogbo a call-up by Andy Farrell to the Ireland squad for the Six Nations.

Coming through the ranks at Cobh Pirates and UCC, Edogbo became the first player from Cobh to enter the Munster Academy in 2021.

A year later he was awarded his provincial debut away to Dragons in 2022 and made eight appearances over the URC title-winning campaign of 2022/23.

Last month younger brother and back-row forward Seán signed a two-year deal having made his provincial debut against Dragons in January.
