Under-20 Six Nations: Ireland 47-14 Scotland
The Irish U-20 side followed in the footsteps of the senior squad and captured the Triple Crown when they put Scotland to the sword in Cork with seven players scoring tries.
Similar to Andy Farrell's side, silverware seemed unlikely when they too returned from France on the opening weekend nursing a big loss.
But Andrew Browne’s men turned their campaign round and finished it in style with a fourth win in succession with Ireland having finished bottom of the table a year ago.
Ireland had the bonus point in the bag by the break when they went in leading 28-0 after making the most of everything they created. The four converted tries came from six visits to the 22 — Scotland made a similar amount of forays into the Ireland 22 and came away with nothing, with excellent defending preventing the ball being grounded after an early tapped penalty and then again just before the break.

In contrast, Ireland had a cutting edge going forward on a blustery afternoon in Cork and never looked back once hooker Duinn Maguire scored after they went on the blindside after a penalty to the right corner after eight minutes.
Impressive centre Rob Carney had a try scratched after 15 minutes for a forward pass in the build-up but Ireland pushed on and right winger Derry Moloney scored out wide after 21 minutes before Carney displayed great hands to finish a good build-up from scrum half Christopher Barrett and No. 8 Diarmaid O’Connell.
They wrapped up the bonus point when flanker Ben Blaney scored down the left after Barrett again went on the narrow side and out-half Tom Wood maintained his excellent kicking to land his fourth conversion to lead 28-0 at the break.
Ireland didn’t push on in the third quarter in the swirling wind and with both sides emptying their benches, but they struck eleven minutes from time when replacement Johnny O’Sullivan finished off a great move.
Scotland, who had never won in this grade in Ireland, deservedly got a couple of tries on the board with replacement hooker Jamie McAughtrie and fullback Henry Widdowson getting over.

But Ireland finished strongly with Barrett, now playing on the wing in a reshuffled side, scored four minutes from time and replacement loosehead Christian Foley got their seventh try in the final play for a side which will look ahead to the World Championship in Georgia in the summer with considerable optimism.
