Bundee Aki is back in the Ireland squad after serving a suspension

Bundee Aki is back in the Ireland squad ahead of Friday night's Guinness Men's Six Nations clash against Wales at Aviva Stadium, while Harry Byrne has been ruled out.

Aki has missed every game of the competition so far after being handed a four game ban for "verbal abuse and disrespect" towards the match officials after Connacht's URC defeat to Leinster.

He was handed with a six-game ban, however two of those games were suspended, which meant he sat out a URC game and the matches with France, Italy and England.

Several members of the squad were released for provincial action with their provinces this weekend, with Byrne sustaining a concussion in Leinster's defeat to Cardiff, ruling him out.

Robbie Henshaw will also link with the squad this week after playing for Leinster for the first time since January at the weekend.

Cormac Izuchukwu continues his graduated return to play protocols and will join the squad alongside the other nine players who have also returned to camp.

Jimmy O’Brien is also back in the fold.

The Ireland team to face Wales will be named on Wednesday afternoon.
