Glasgow prop Nathan McBeth is set for his first Guinness Six Nations start after Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend made four changes to his pack for Saturday's Calcutta Cup showdown with England at Murrayfield.

Hooker Ewan Ashman, loosehead Pierre Schoeman, second-rower Grant Gilchrist and back-rower Matt Fagerson all drop out from the side that started last weekend’s dismal 18-15 defeat by Italy.

The experienced quartet are replaced in the XV by George Turner, McBeth, Gregor Brown and Jamie Ritchie.

Townsend has kept faith with the same back-line that started in Rome, meaning there is no place in the XV for the high-profile back-three trio of Blair Kinghorn, Darcy Graham and Duhan van der Merwe.

Wing Graham is on the bench as part of a 5-3 split, with the other two again omitted from the squad entirely.

The absence of Ashman, Schoeman and Gilchrist means, remarkably, there are no Edinburgh players in the starting XV.

Scotland team to face England: Tom Jordan, Kyle Steyn, Huw Jones, Sione Tuipulotu (capt), Jamie Dobie, Finn Russell, Ben White, Nathan McBeth, George Turner, Zander Fagerson, Gregor Brown, Scott Cummings, Jamie Ritchie, Rory Darge, Jack Dempsey.

France coach Fabien Galthie has made two changes to the starting XV for Sunday's Six Nations match against Wales in Cardiff, sticking largely with the side that outclassed Ireland 36-14 in last week's opener.

Pau team-mates Fabien Brau-Boirie and Emilien Gailleton will take over in the midfield, replacing Yoram Moefana and Nicolas Depoortere, both ruled ‌out through injury.

Twenty-year-old Brau-Boirie, who has been a standout player for Pau this season, is set to earn his first cap for Les Bleus.

On the bench, Maxime Lamothe, Thibaud Flament and Noah ‌Nene come in, replacing Peato Mauvaka, Hugo Auradou and Kalvin Gourgues, respectively.

Like Brau-Boirie, Nene has the chance ‌to make his international debut if called upon during the ‌match.

France will head to Cardiff aiming to maintain momentum from last week's emphatic victory.

France team: Thomas Ramos, Theo Attissogbe, Emilien Gailleton, Fabien Brau-Boirie, Louis Bielle-Biarrey, Matthieu Jalibert, Antoine Dupont (capt), Anthony Jelonch, Francois Cros, Oscar Jegou, Mickael Guillard, Charles Ollivon, Dorian Aldegheri, Julien Marchand, Jean-Baptiste Gros.

Replacements: Maxime Lamothe, Rodrigue Neti, Regis Montagne, Thibaud Flament, Emmanuel Meafou, Lenni Nouchi, Baptiste Serin, ‌Noah Nene.
