Leinster look set to welcome back James Ryan and James Lowe for Friday's Champions Cup trip to Leicester but in-form wing Jordan Larmour has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Ireland lock Ryan has completed his suspension for his red card in the autumn Test against South Africa, the ban reduced by a week after the lock attended 'tackle school', while winger Lowe has recovered from a calf injury that saw him sit out the last two Leinster games.

Leo Cullen's four-time champions saw off a second-string Harlequins side 45-28 at Aviva Stadium on Saturday with 28-year-old Larmour scoring a brace and being named man of the match.

The Ireland international won't feature this week due to a hamstring injury, while lock RG Snyman (shoulder) and centre Garry Ringrose (cramp injury) will be assessed during the week ahead of the team's second Pool 3 tie.

South Africa's Snyman (above) was replaced just 17 minutes into the clash with Diarmuid Mangan taking his place, while Ryan's return bolsters their second row options.

"James prepared the team last week so he's up and running," assistant coach Robin McBryde told RTÉ Sport on Monday afternoon.

"It will be good to get him back. He's a very experienced player so it would be good to have anyone of his calibre back in the mix.

"We've just got to play the waiting game [with RG] and wait on the results.

"I suppose it was a positive he came off as soon as he felt something, he didn't play on with it. You've got to look after players.

"It was great to see Diarmuid Mangan pick it up, it's quite seamless with that change."

Wing forward Will Connors will return to training as he continues his recovery from an arm injury with a decision on his availability to be made later in the week.

Pool 3 CC after R1

Meanwhile, Leicester Tigers, fourth in the Premiership, began their quest for a first Champions Cup title since 2002, with a 39-20 defeat away to Ronan O'Gara's La Rochelle, the 2022 and 2023 winners.

"They rested quite a number of their frontliners so I expect quite a few changes," said McBryde of Geoff Parling's side.

"They are four out of four at home.

"It's going to be a great occasion, a great challenge. You've got to look forward to these games.

"As a stadium, the crowd is on top of you, there's not a better place to go as a player and test yourself out in an iconic place to play rugby.

"We are going to a stadium steeped in history and tradition and history, they are a very proud bunch, unbeaten at home.

"Hopefully all those little errors that we saw last week [against Quins] will iron themselves out."
