Connacht Rugby have announced that Mack Hansen has returned to full training and could make his season debut in their BKT United Rugby Championship meeting with Cardiff Rugby at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday.

Hansen sustained the foot injury while in Australia with the Lions Tour in July, during the side's 48-0 thumping of an AUNZ Invitational XV.

The positive injury update also stated that Harry West is another player that has returned to full training and is available for selection.

There was further news on Josh Ioane and Byron Ralston who have returned to training, but a decision on their availability for Saturday's match will be made later in the week.

Two players, Niall Murray and Oisin Dowling, have undergone surgery. Murray went under the knife to repair an ankle injury sustained in the opening game of the campaign against Benetton and is stated to be unavailable for "a number of weeks".

Dowling underwent surgery a fortnight ago and is expected to be sidelined until December.

Temi Lasisi continues his rehabilitation from knee surgery last month.
