Connacht's BKT United Rugby Championship fixture against Scarlets has been postponed due to the disruption caused by Storm Amy.

The westerners' home tie against the Welsh franchise had been fixed for Saturday but the URC confirmed in a statement on Friday night that the game been postponed due to "major travel disruptions and flight cancellations for the Scarlets".

"The BKT URC will now consider available dates with broadcasters and both clubs to reschedule the game," the league said in a press release.

Storm Amy has already disrupted this weekend's sporting schedule, with both of Friday's League of Ireland Premier Division fixtures postponed.

Stuart Lancaster's side made a winning start to the season, with a 26-15 win over Bennetton Treviso last week.
