Sam Monaghan and Béibhinn Parsons will make their long-awaited comebacks from injury when Ireland host Scotland on Saturday.
Captain and second row Monaghan has been out of action with a knee injury suffered in June 2024, while winger Parsons broke her leg last December.
Head coach Scott Bemand is without influential forwards Erin King (knee) and Dorothy Wall (ankle) for the World Cup, which begins for Ireland on 24 August against Japan in Northampton, while star back row Aoife Wafer (knee) is in a race against time to be fit for the tournament.
He includes two debutants for the match-up with the Scots in Cork on Saturday afternoon (2pm) with Connacht's Ivana Kiripati and Exeter’s Nancy McGillivray named in the back row and centre, respectively.

Connacht back row Ailish Quinn is also in line for her international bow off the bench.
Molly Scuffil-McCabe and Dannah O’Brien partner up in the half-backs with Eve Higgins and McGillivray in midfield.
Parsons joins Amee-Leigh Costigan and full-back Méabh Deely in the back three.
Clíodhna Moloney-MacDonald, the only player in the squad to have played at the 2017 World Cup, is at hooker, between Siobhán McCarthy and Sadhbh McGrath.
Monaghan packs down alongside Eimear Corri-Fallon, also returning from a long-term injury, in the second row.
Grace Moore, Kiripati and Brittany Hogan make up the back row.
Neve Jones, Niamh O’Dowd, Linda Djougang, Fiona Tuite, Deirbhile Nic a Bháird and Quinn are the forward replacements, with backs Emily Lane and Enya Breen completing Ireland’s 23.
Ireland face Canada in Belfast on Saturday week and the 32-player squad for the World Cup will be named on Monday 11 August.
Pool C also includes Spain and New Zealand.
Scotland beat Ireland in the last round of the Six Nations, in which Ireland finished third for the second year in a row.
Bemand (above) said: "This is the first real opportunity for players to put their hands up for World Cup selection, and that’s brought great intensity to our work in camp.
"We’ve seen real growth in this group since we assembled at the start of June, and now it’s about transferring that onto the pitch.
"There’s a lot of competition for places, which is exactly what we want heading into a major tournament.
"Scotland are a quality side, and our recent encounters have all been tight, physical battles - that’s the kind of test we need as we build towards the Rugby World Cup."
