Ulster's Jacob Stockdale has been ruled out of Saturday’s Test with Portugal with a shoulder injury.

The 29-year-old was replaced in the first-half of the opening summer Test series game against Georgia, a comfortable 34-5 win in Tbilisi.

The squad has arrived in Lisbon ahead of Saturday’s game, but Stockdale has returned home to have his shoulder issue assessed by a specialist.

Provincial team-mate Scott Wilson, who had been called up as cover for the Georgia game, has also left the squad.

Cian Prendergast has recovered from illness and is available for selection, while interim Paul O’Connell has no further injury concerns from the Georgia victory.

O’Connell will name his starting team on Thursday morning.
