Joey Carbery has been left out of the Bordeaux Begles squad for tomorrow's Champions Cup final against Northampton Saints (2.45pm, live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player).
The former Ireland, Munster and Leinster out-half misses out with France international Matthieu Jalibert starting at 10 and head coach Yannick Bru opting for a 6:2 bench split.
The 29-year-old started Bordeaux’s two European games against Ulster and the win over Sharks, as well as coming off the bench against Leicester and the semi-final victory over Toulouse.
Carbery was among the replacements for last weekend's Top14 win over Castres but misses out on a second Champions Cup final. He was an unused replacement in Leinster’s 2018 win over Racing 92.
Les Bleus winger Damian Penaud has overcome an ankle injury to take his place in the starting team, with Maxime Lucu captaining the team.
Meanwhile, Northampton Saints captain George Furbank has also recovered from the arm injury that kept him out of the semi-final win over Leinster.
He starts at full-back, while Ulster-bound number 8 Juarno Augustus misses out with injury.
Lions bolter Henry Pollock starts at number 8.
