Jordie Barrett says Leinster are "moving in the right direction" in their bid for European glory but insists Glasgow will provide a stern test of their credentials in this weekend's Investec Champions Cup quarter-final clash.
It’s hard to envisage Leo Cullen’s side enjoying a more straight-forward day at the office than last Saturday, where they coasted to a 62-0 win over Harlequins at Croke Park.
It wasn’t quite as one-sided at Scotstoun as Sione Vailanu and Henco Venter both scored twice as Glasgow marked their first ever home knockout tie in the competition with a win.
They are back on the road this weekend for Friday’s last-eight clash that sees the top two in the URC cross paths at Aviva Stadium.
Barrett was signed by Leinster in an attempt to get over the line in Europe’s premier competition having lost the last three finals, but the All Black is conscious that only another big performance will ensure their progress.
"You want to get better towards the business end," he told RTÉ Sport’s Michael Corcoran.
"If we don’t get our jobs right this weekend, well there is no more European rugby for us. It’s a simple as that.
"Glasgow are a good attacking side, and tough as well as they showed against Leicester. They are a confident side, they back their ability, but we are right up for the challenge.
"We respect them as an outfit, but we feel like we are heading in the right direction."
