Connacht have extended Josh Ioane's contract and the New Zealand out-half will remain at the club for another two years.

Ioane joined from the Chiefs last summer on a one-year deal, and has scored 45 points – including two tries – in his 10 appearances for the province.

Having lost JJ Hanrahan to Munster for next season, Connacht were keen to tie down the former All Black, while fly-half Jack Carty's current contract comes to an end this summer.

There's is also an extension for Sean O'Brien, who arrived from Leinster ahead of the 2023/24 season. He has scored three tries in his 13 appearances so far.

The back row signs on for the 2025/26 campaign.

Pete Wilkins' side are ninth in the URC table after 12 rounds and next face Ospreys away on 22 March.
