There was always going to be a reaction to the French defeat. The fact that Mack Hansen and James Lowe are available, with Garry Ringrose back from suspension, they were always going to come back into the side.
The big talking point is Jack Crowley getting the number 10 jersey back from Sam Prendergast, after his difficult outing against France. I think Crowley is deserving of his opportunity.
Likewise, I think there had to be some reaction to Joe McCarthy's yellow card and I’m not surprised to see James Ryan and Jack Conan back involved in the team.
It’s a much-changed team, but in many respects, particularly in relation to the attack, I think it’s probably a stronger Irish team than the one that faced France.
Coming into the championship, all the talk was of Ireland becoming the first team to win three titles in a row.
France may have scuppered that last week and it’s now their championship for the taking.
That said, the fact that Ireland are first out of the blocks tomorrow, it’s imperative they control what they can do.
I’d be very surprised if they don’t get a bonus-try win.
Italy have been porous in defence. I expect Ireland to win, and win well, but I think it will only be a stay of execution. France should get the job done in Paris and should end up deserving winners.
