Connacht wings Byron Ralston and Andrew Smith have agreed new contracts at the province, while second row Oisin Dowling has signed a contract extension.

Smith has agreed a one-year deal, while Ralston and Dowling's new deals will keep them at the Sportsground until 2026.

Ralston has been a consistent presence in the Connacht starting team since joining from Western Force in 2022, playing 28 times in the last two seasons, 22 of those starts.

The versatile back has played the majority of his rugby on the wing for the province, but has also covered centre on multiple occasions.

Ralston, who turns 24 next month, has agreed a two-year extension to stay at Dexcom Stadium under head coach Pete Wilkins.

"Byron is a key member of the squad thanks to his consistency and versatility," Wilkins said.

"The frequency of his selection so far this season demonstrates his importance to us, and with his work ethic and commitment to growing his game, he will only continue to improve and contribute over the coming seasons. We're delighted to have him sign on at Dexcom for another two years."

Ralston played at Under-20 level for his native Australia, but is Irish qualified through his grandmother from Donegal, and has spoken of his desire to represent Ireland.

Former Ireland Sevens international Smith joined the province in the summer, and has featured regularly for Wilkins' side, scoring one try in 13 games across the URC, Champions and Challenge Cup.

Dowling, who joined from Leinster in 2021, has played 56 times for the province across close to four seasons.
