England hooker Amy Cokayne will miss Saturday's Guinness Women's Six Nations clash with Ireland at Twickenham following her sending-off against Scotland.

The Red Roses completed the final 25 minutes of their 46-0 victory in Edinburgh with only 14 players after Cokayne received her second yellow card, resulting in her dismissal.

The first offence was a dangerous clearout and the second a dangerous tackle, with a disciplinary committee awarding a two-match suspension that was reduced to one because of mitigation.

Cokayne, who was making her first appearance for 12 months after recovering from a calf injury, will return for a potential Grand Slam decider against France on Saturday week.

Ireland earned their first Women's Six Nations win in two years with an enouraging defeat of Wales last weekend.

Head coach Scott Bemand wants his players to embrace the opportunity to test themselves against elite opposition.

"We'll go after our own performance," he said.

"If that's good enough to get a win, then that's something we'll absolutely go after. England are in a space where their programme is mature.

"They've been professional players for a good while and they've a few threats with a bit of depth in behind it. We'll go there and get excited about playing in front of a big crowd."
