Leinster head coach Leo Cullen refused to rule out a potential move for RG Snyman but said "out of respect for all different parties", he would not comment further.
The Irish Times have reported that the South African would depart Munster at the end of the season to join rivals Leinster.
Snyman has played just ten times for the province since joining in 2020 due to a number of injuries, the latest a chest / shoulder issue that will keep the double World Cup winner out of action until the latter stages of the season.
Munster had already announced that the lock would be leaving them at the end of the season.
Leinster host Sale tomorrow in round two of the Investec Champions Cup at the RDS and Cullen was asked about the Snyman story at a press briefing this afternoon.
"Good question. It's this time of year, isn’t it?" he told RTÉ Sport.
"Marcus [Ó Buachalla, media communications manager] will reveal all if there was something to be revealed.
"Listen, at the moment our attention is on Sale tomorrow, we talk about [contracts] at this time of year, there is lots of different conversations, discussions happening in the background so when those become a bit firmer, yeah, we’ll be the first to let you know.
"But at the moment, it’s not where our attention is at the moment, and that is out of respect for all different parties as well. So yeah, focus on the game now, believe it’s a sell out, great to be here, the place is looking well."
Fellow South Africa lock Jason Jenkins (above) made the move at the start of last season and Cullen said that they are processes in place between the stakeholders when this transfers happen.
"Of course, there is conversations, you need permission and all the rest that would be normal course of events, there will be discussions in the background."
Speaking to RTÉ Sport this morning, former Munster and Ireland captain Donal Lenihan said the potential move would "make sense", especially now that former Springboks coach Jacques Nienaber is part of the Leinster set-up.
Cullen added: "As I said...that’s not where our focus is.
"I understand the questions and why you’re asking them, that’s not where our minds are at the moment.
"We’re focusing on this weekend. It’s a short turnaround if you think we’re coming from La Rochelle, travel back, and that’s all I’m really thinking about at the moment."
