Harry Byrne will miss Leinster's Round 2 Investec Champions Cup meeting with the Sale Sharks on Saturday, with Ciarán Frawley in line to start at out-half against the Premiership leaders.
Byrne had pipped Frawley to the 10 shirt for Sunday's 16-9 win away to La Rochelle in France, before departing with a head injury shortly before half time, having impressed in his 39 minute display.
The province have confirmed he is following the return to play protocols for a concussion, and with Leinster on a six-day turnaround for this Saturday's visit of Sale, Byrne has been ruled out for the game at the RDS.
Assistant coach Andrew Goodman says Tadhg Furlong is also set to miss out again this week, but Jack Conan is 'in the mix' to return, having resumed training following a minor injury picked up before their win against Connacht earlier this month.
Scrum-half Luke McGrath has also returned to training recently after missing the last seven games with a knee injury, although Goodman (below) doesn't expect him to be involved for the meeting with the Sharks this weekend.

"Luke's returning but is still a little bit away," the province's attack coach said.
"He's made some really positive strides over the last week or two, so it's been great to see him back out on the field."
Loosehead Michael Milne is available for selection again, with the Offaly man yet to feature this season due to a shoulder injury, while a shoulder issue is also likely to sideline scrum-half Cormac Foley for several months, with the 24-year-old having surgery on the injury.
The province returned to training this afternoon at their UCD base, as attention now turns towards the meeting with the Premiership leaders at the RDS on Saturday evening (live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.)
And Goodman says there was spring in their step as they got back down to business after their win against the defending champions.
The 16-9 win against Ronan O'Gara's side was their first against La Rochelle in four attempts, and has put the province in the driving seat for a high seed in the knockout stages.
"There's some sore bodies but the boys recovered really well and came in, knowing we had a good session today because it's a shorter week," he added.
"It was important for us to get some clarity on how we want to play a very good Sale side this weekend. It was a slogfest over there [against La Rochelle] in those conditions, it wasn't much ball movement, so the defensive collisions were big."

The torrential rain meant his side didn't get to play their usual expansive game, but Goodman says the manner of the win was still particularly pleasing.
"It was great character, some great character moments and effort moments that you celebrate in a performance like that. It's more around celebrating the efforts, the back-to-back efforts that people made, the special moments that maybe some in the stand didn't see that are really clear on video and the impact they had.
"We knew it was going to be a tussle that we needed to stay in for 80 to 85 minutes because they're a great side with a great record at home. What a great atmosphere, it was unbelievable, it was a great experience for everyone involved.
"It was important to get off to a good start and you know any away game in France, to come away with four points is a great day at the office. You add in La Rochelle, the history we've had with them, and the side they've got, it was a big one for us. We've talked about it as a group, and it's a great start, and we can get confidence out of it but it's only one game but we need to back it up with a better performance this week at home."
