Harry Byrne will start at out-half for Leinster in Sunday's Investec Champions Cup Pool 4 opener against La Rochelle with Leo Cullen making 11 changes to his side for their rematch with the defending champions.

Byrne continues in the 10 shirt, getting the nod over Ciarán Frawley who is held back in reserve.

Tadhg Furlong misses out for the four-time champions, having featured off the bench in last weekend's win over Connacht as Michael Ala'alatoa retains his place at tighthead, while Robbie Henshaw and Ryan Baird are the others who stay in the starting XV.

Ala'alatoa is joined in the front row by Andrew Porter and Dan Sheehan, while Baird shifts from the second row to flanker, paving the way for Joe McCarthy and co-captain James Ryan to start at lock.

Will Connors is given a big opportunity to start at openside flanker with Josh van der Flier on the bench, while Caelan Doris comes in at number 8, as Jack Conan misses out on selection.

Jamison Gibson-Park starts at out-half to partner Byrne behind the scrum, while Henshaw moves from outside to inside centre, allowing co-captain Garry Ringrose come in at 13.

Cullen has gone with a new back three, as Hugo Keenan starts at full-back, in between wings Jimmy O'Brien and Jordan Larmour.

Scott Buckley comes in at hooker in place of the injured Barron, and is joined up front by props John Ryan and Jeremy Loughman.

Tom Ahern continues at flanker after an impressive run, where he links up with Gavin Coombes and John Hodnett.

Conor Murray is one of six changes to the starting side, replacing Craig Casey at scrum-half, and he partners Jack Crowley in the half-backs.

Antoine Frisch misses out, so Alex Nankivell moves to outside centre with Rory Scannell in at 12.

Calvin Nash makes a rare start at full-back, with Sean O'Brien and Shay McCarthy both making Champions Cup debuts on the wings.
