Munster captain Peter O'Mahony paid tribute to RG Snyman, who made his long awaited comeback for the province last week.

A horrendous run of injuries and set-backs, including two ACL ruptures, restricted the South African to just four Munster appearances since making his debut in 2020 before his run-out as a replacement in the BKT United Rugby Championship win over Scarlets last weekend.

"Delighted for him, great to see him back, a well documented long road that he's been on," said O'Mahony at the launch of the Aviva Best Seats in the House campaign.

"I don’t think there is a sportsperson who wouldn’t be delighted to see something like that, get back on the pitch and hopefully he can stay there now for his own sake and enjoy his rugby again.

"I’m sure that was a torturous long road for anyone to do.

"I’m sure there were difficult days but yeah delighted for him and I’m sure he can make a huge impact for our team.

"It’s obviously a huge pity Tadgher [Tadhg Beirne] isn’t there but hopefully RG can hit the ground running now."
