Ireland men's and women's teams both progressed to into the quarter-finals of the Emirates Dubai 7s on Friday.
The women's side topped Pool C with three wins from three. Eve Higgins was the star of the show, running for four tries across the wins against Spain (21-7), Japan (31-24) and Fiji (24-17). Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe and Béibhinn Parsons were also prominent in a very impressive start to the tournament.
Ireland will now take on the USA, the runners-up in the Pool A, in the last eight on Saturday morning (5.22am Irish time).
It's the team's fifth successive quarter-final appearance on the World Series.
The men will face off with Argentina in their quarter-final game on Saturday (6.28am).
Their form was a little more patchy - a win over Uganda was followed by a draw with Spain and then defeat to France, but it was still enough to get out of the pool
Up next is the Pumas, with victory setting up a semi-final date with either Australia or the USA.
