Cheslin Kolbe will make his first start at full-back for South Africa when they face Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
The world champions have made three changes to the team that beat Argentina in their final Rugby Championship match in September, with Kolbe restored to the starting line-up after recovering from a broken jaw.
Damian Willemse is given the nod at out-half while Kurt-Lee Arendse replaces Canan Moodie on the wing.
Former Munster centre Damian de Allende continues his midfield partnership with Jesse Kriel, with Jaden Hendrikse preferred to Faf de Klerk at scrum-half.

The pack is unchanged with captain Siya Kolisi joined by Pieter-Steph du Toit and Jasper Wiese in the back row, while Eben Etzebeth and Lood de Jager are the second row combination.
Malcom Marx is selected at hooker ahead of Bongi Mbonambi, who forms part of a powerful bench that includes Ox Nche, Vincent Koch and Franco Mostert.
South Africa have again opted for a 6-2 split on the bench, De Klerk and Willie le Roux the two backs named among the replacements, and head coach Jacques Nienaber said Kolbe will provide cover at 10.
"Cheslin has delivered star performances for his clubs in France at fly-half, so he will slot in as a back-up fly-half if necessary, while Faf is another option for us at No 10 as well," said Nienaber.
"Damian Willemse can also move to inside centre if we need cover there, while Damian de Allende can play outside centre and Willie full-back, and this allowed us for us to opt for a six-two split on the bench."
Former Ireland centre Darren Cave looks ahead to Saturday's game against South Africa
South Africa have not won in Dublin since 2012 and Nienaber said Saturday's game is important for a number of reasons as they look to test new combinations ahead of their Rugby World Cup meeting with Ireland next September.
"Ireland are the top ranked team in the world currently and they’ve shown in the past that they can be a force to reckoned with in Dublin," said Nienaber.
"We last faced them on their home patch in 2017 and they beat us 38-3 in that match, and they also beat us here 29-15 in 2014 and they will draw confidence from that.
"Similarly to us they will also view this as a vital clash with an eye on next year’s Rugby World Cup in France where we will cross paths in the pool stages.
"Obviously we are a long way out from the World Cup, but we have a limited number of matches left before the competition and the preparation doesn’t get better than playing a side we will face in the World Cup and the No 1 side in the world."
