Dan McFarland says it's too early to tell the extent of the injuries suffered by Stuart McCloskey and Iain Henderson in their win against the Northampton Saints.
The home side ran in four tries in the 27-22 Heineken Champions Cup victory, but it was a stuttering performance against a much-improved Northampton team, following their heavy defeat to Racing 92 a week ago.
Their stop-start display could be explained somewhat by injuries to the influential McCloskey and Henderson in either half.
Henderson suffered an ankle injury, while McCloskey picked up a hamstring knock, but the head coach says it's too early to tell the extent of the issues.
"We'll have to wait for the medics, but it looks like Stu has some sort of hamstring injury and Iain's is an ankle," the head coach said.
"Beyond that, I don't want to speculate."
McFarland was delighted to make it two wins from two, with nine out of a possible 10 points, crediting his backrow with come crucial interventions late in the game, after they had let Northampton back into the tie.
"Our backrow got a lot of steals at crucial times, Duane (Vermeulen) is a legend for getting the steal at the exact moment when you need it, and Nick (Timoney) and Marcus (Rea) have been great at doing that over the last few games," he added.
"We put three tries on the board and some nice counter attack and phase play but on each occasion we were scoring and they were kicking to our half we weren't being accurate in exiting and it was giving them an opportunity to tick points over and that's what they did.
"A massive chunk of their points came from the three or four minutes after we'd scored, and that is very unusual for us. In the last three or four games we've been excellent at exiting our half.
"We just did odd things today, little offloads, losing the ball in contact, trying to get the ball away from mauls and giving away possession. That was a big reason for why we couldn't maintain control on the game."
