Munster fought back from a seven-point deficit against Leinster to claim the Women's Interprovincial Championship with a 19-7 win at Energia Park.

Chloe Pearse proved decisive for Munster as she weighed in with two tries as they overcame a 7-0 lead built by Leinster following a 16th minute Lisa Callan try and Jenny Murphy conversion.

Pearse responded just four minutes later with a try after powering through although Nicole Cronin missed the conversion to leave the southerners two points adrift at the break.

Just after the hour, Pearse got her second try to put Munster in front from the platform of a Deirbhile Nic a Bhaird turnover at the breakdown with Cronin accurate with the conversion to make it 12-7.

Nic a Bhaird put the seal on victory just as the game entered the final five minutes with a converted try.

The victory saw Munster finish on 14 points, five points clear of their rivals, with both sides having already beaten Connacht and Ulster in the two previous rounds meaning Saturday night's fixture was always going to be a winner-takes-all occasion.

Elsewhere, Connacht secured third place in the table on three points, one clear of Ulster after both sides drew 12-12.
