Leinster have confirmed that both Jamison Gibson-Park and Johnny Sexton will require further assessment before a decision is made on their fitness ahead of this Friday's Guinness Pro14 Rainbow Cup clash with Glasgow (8.15pm).

Sexton hasn't played since he was taken off in the province's Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final win over Exeter last month after suffering a knock to his head.

Gibson-Park is still working his way back to full fitness with a persistent hamstring injury still requiring some attention. The New Zealander has only seen very limited game time since the Six Nations.

There is better news for Jimmy O'Brien and Caelan Doris who will resume normal training after coming through the victory over Ulster just over two weeks ago.

Elsewhere Will Connors has had surgery on a knee problem and won't be involved again until pre-season at the earliest.

Leva Fifita

Meanwhile Connacht have confirmed the signing of lock Leva Fifita.

The Tongan international made 65 appearances for Grenoble during four seasons at the Stade des Alpes and he has also made 19 international appearances, including four at the RWC 2019.

During his time in France he spent two seasons with current Connacht forwards coach Dewald Senekal who was his head coach with Grenoble.

"I'm very excited to be joining Connacht Rugby," he said in a statement released by the province.

"I know Dewald very well from my time in Grenoble and after chatting to Andy Friend I believe this is the right step to make in my career. I’m looking forward to moving to the West of Ireland and play my part in helping the team succeed into the future."
