Johnny Sexton and Will Connors are expected to be fit for selection for Leinster's opening Heineken Champions Cup clash with Montpellier on Saturday (5.30pm), but prop Tadhg Furlong remains sidelined.

Out-half Sexton (dead leg) was withdrawn in the second half of Ireland's Autumn Nations Cup win over Scotland on Saturday, while flanker Connors missed that game following a HIA in the win over Georgia at the end of November.

Lock James Ryan underwent a HIA during the game on Saturday and will be monitored this week. Jimmy O'Brien is also in contention for the Pool A clash at the GGL Stadium following a back injury.

Garry Ringrose (jaw) and James Lowe (groin) have injuries that require further assessment and won't feature in France.

Prop Ed Byrne (calf) was also injured with Ireland, while Furlong (calf), Tommy O'Brien (ankle), Jack Conan (neck), Max Deegan (knee), Jordan Larmour (shoulder), Vakh Abdaladze (back) and Adam Byrne (hamstring) remain out.

Elsewhere, Billy Burns, Iain Henderson and Rob Lyttle have been ruled out of Ulster's clash with Toulouse on Friday night.
